Question by Landloard: Where I can take Anatomy and Micro besides the Community College?
Is anyone knows where I can take Anatomy and Microbiology cources besides the Community Colleges so later they would be credited towards the Nursing program at the Community Colleges? Any area, bay area, Sacramento or anywhere near by Im willing to travel.
The reason i want to take those cources not in community college is because in other schools it might be much faster and I can find better teachers at other schools.

I am a bit confused…by what you are looking for -not a college offering these courses? Basically the only sure way to take a course that will transfer to the nursing program in through a accredited college & the CC is the cheapest alternative for that, the Cal State & the UC system both may offer those, but far more $ $ than the CC. I don’t really know of any freestanding places that would teach those classes that would transfer. Other than colleges, not many other places teach individual classes….

Edit: Microbiology and Anatomy are only 1 semester-where ever you take it, so I doubt a UC/Cal State would be any faster than a CC. All you need for nursing is a general fairly intro course, so honestly, a CC (especially one with a nursing program) will teach you all you need particularly in micro. I actually re-took anatomy at the CC myself because it was a better, more focused class than the one at the university (I was at Cal State LA & USC). Don’t brush off the CC system.

Question by BlueghurL: What are the best cources in College that are good to take?
I’ve been thinking about if what course I will be taking when I enter College. Someone told me Tourism because I’m tall. My height is 5″8. Someone also suggested me to take Nursing, I don’t like it because I’m so afraid about the bloods. By the way, can you just tell me all the courses that you know for College?

Anything that interests you and furthers your education and knowledge is good.

BTW, I really am not certain of the connection between bein 5’8″ and working in tourism.

Question by Maki E: What you need to get into the college of nursing at OSU?
I’m a junior in high school and I want to be a nurse. After high school can I go straight to OSU’s college of nursing or are there cources I need to take first.
I mean Ohio State University not Oklahoma State

You should take a lot of science and math courses to get an experience of what OSU is going to give you. So try to get in some AP courses if you aren’t already. Also, get good grades because it would help you with the scholarships that OSU has. As long as you have a great gpa I think for the university is 2.5 and academics you will be able to have a solid background for Ohio State.

Psychology is one of the most popular majors in spite of the fact there are essentially no jobs for a person with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology.

You can only realistically expect to make a living in this field if you get a PhD so you can set yourself up in private practice as a Psychologist. To do this you have to graduate from your bachelors program with a GPA of at least 3.0. If you think you can do this and commit yourself to at least 4 years of additional schooling after you get your bachelors, then great.

But if you do not think you will get at least a 3.0 or do not intend to stay in school past your bachelors degree then you should consider a different field.

And since you need a PhD and once you have a PhD no one really cares where you got your bachelors, just go to the place you can go for the cheapest, generally your closest state university, as an in state student.

If you do not want to pursue a masters in Psychology, you can also go into a masters program in a lot of other areas or to law school as well.

People with only an undergrad degree in psychology made a starting salary of $ 36,000 per year on average in 2009 according to:

Question by babyblue: What psychology classed should I take in college?
I want to be a psychologist (therapist, counselor) for teen girls. So what type of classes do I take for that? Do they have psychology for teens? And how do I decide what kind of psychologist I want to be. Are there any good books about psychology I should read? I’m just a little confused on how I become a specific type a psychologist.
-thanks!

First speak with your guidance counselor and if he/she isn’t any help i think you should start off with Psychology 101. The basic and branch off from there.
